The House Judiciary Oversight Subcommittee is set to hold a hearing Wednesday about the conditions at the Delaney Hall ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey.

The subcommittee says the hearing will explore “how recent protests at Delaney Hall have disrupted ICE’s immigration enforcement efforts.”

Since late May, law enforcement has clashed outside the center with protestors who say they are demonstrating in solidarity with the detainees who have alleged poor living conditions.
President Donald Trump defended operations at Delaney Hall when asked during a May 27 Cabinet meeting and called the protestors “fake” and “paid for.”
