A radar confirmed tornado was seen touching down outside of San Antonio, Texas today. The twister comes while the area is dealing with a life-threatening flash flood threat.
SAN ANTONIO — Dramatic video near Interstate 10 in San Antonio appears to show a tornado in the distance as traffic streamed along during the Wednesday morning rush. The National Weather Service (NWS) office in San Antonio said there was a radar-confirmed tornado in the area at the time.

The video taken on the eastbound side of Loop 1604, approaching I-10, also showed what appeared to be power flashes in the vicinity of the funnel cloud.
NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a Level 1 out of 5 risk of severe thunderstorms for south-central Texas through the day Wednesday.

These storms are part of the same system that’s delivering torrential rain and life-threatening flash flooding to the Texas Hill Country just west of the city.
The SPC warned that another tornado or two will be possible through Wednesday afternoon as this system collides with extremely humid air near the surface.
