AUSTELL, Ga. – Two children were among four people that were struck by a falling tree limb at Six Flags theme park in Georgia on Sunday.

Two of those four guests were injured when severe storms caused the large tree limb to fall during the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

According to the Cobb County public information officer, the guests were enjoying a day at Six Flags Over Georgia in Cobb County, Georgia, when it happened.

The Cobb County Police Department was notified of a medical call and responded to the scene to find two injured children, one of them being knocked out, while the other sustained a severe arm injury.

One of the children regained consciousness at the scene before being transported to a hospital for evaluation.

It is never safe to take shelter under a tree, as falling branches can be deadly.
