President Donald Trump’s arrival sparked more than political chatter and gave social media users a reason to zoom in.
This time, he took the stage before his MAGA supporters, airing his grievance over something he will never rightfully earn.
Beyond his egotistical remarks, viewers focused on what took place before the speech, sparking a different conversation about his appearance.
He traveled to Texas for the Republican National Convention’s midterm gathering, sporting a new look after his recent weight gain.

Many noticed his roomier, more comfortable suit after weeks of online roasting.
Footage shows the president at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport around 4:14 p.m. local time before leaving the airport by motorcade. He later attended the Republican convention at the American Airlines Center, where Republicans gathered for the two-day event ahead of the November midterm elections.
This footage comes after months of similar online attention surrounding Trump’s clothing, body and overall appearance.
He was seen descending the aircraft stairs, with commenters focused on how much concentration they believed he used while walking.
“Have you ever seen someone have to use his level of concentration just to walk down a set of stairs? His brain is mush,” one person wrote.
Another mocked his movements, writing, “Ah the leg slapping. ‘Wake up Mr right leg, we have to do some stairs now’.”
Others focused more directly on his size.
“It’s hard to get down those steps when your ankles are bloated, you’re overweight and wear a diaper,” one commenter wrote.
“Look at the SIZE of him!” another added. Someone else simply remarked, “Looking puffy today.”
Donald Trump’s oversized jackets and long overcoats reflect a deliberate style of tailoring. Padded shoulders broaden his frame, while loose waistlines conceal his midsection.
Another person suggested, “He needs one of those chairs that attach to the rail so he can ride down.”
Trump’s recent wardrobe shift has done little to quiet speculation about his recent appearance.
After multiple clips showed him struggling with tightly fitted clothes, Trump has increasingly favored loose-fitting suits that give him more room to move. But the roomier tailoring has not stopped viewers from noticing what they believe is visible weight gain.
As previously reported, Trump had online users zooming in during his Rose Garden speech on Sept. 2. He appeared in a longer blue suit jacket that fell farther down his body than the jackets he typically wears.
Social media users immediately connected the change to his weight, with one person joking that he had received a jacket from the “Husky Department at Sears.”
Another viral post took off in August, focusing on a photograph that showed an unusual bulge beneath Trump’s suit jacket. The image prompted widespread speculation on Trump’s weight gain.
Although nothing has established what caused the bulge, many have pointed out that his weight changes are undeniable.
Trump’s weight has even been addressed in his publicly released medical records.
A doctor’s report from May states that Trump weighed 238 pounds at his annual physical, up 14 pounds from his April 2025 examination.
At a supposed 6 feet 3, his reported body mass index was 29.7, just below the threshold for obesity. His physician, Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella, nevertheless described the president as being in “excellent health” and fully fit to perform his duties.
The physician also recommended increased physical activity and continued weight loss as part of Trump’s preventive care.
“Preventative counseling was provided, including guidance on diet, recommendation to take a low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity, and continued weight loss,” Barbabella wrote in the report.
That medical recommendation has become part of the broader conversation surrounding Trump’s appearance, and although photographs and viral videos alone cannot establish whether his weight has changed since the physical, the baggier clothing he’s been wearing suggest some change.
The Dallas footage nonetheless gave social media another chance to dissect his movements.
The footage does not establish that Trump was experiencing a medical problem that affected his walking from the plane.
For now, the latest video has become another viral snapshot of a president whose appearance continues to draw almost as much online attention as his public remarks.
