The Pitt is still reaching new milestones as its second season comes to an end.

The Season 2 finale, which dropped April 16, drew a series-high 9.7M U.S. viewers through its first weekend on HBO Max, according to Warner Bros. Discovery.

Per WBD, the second season is averaging 15.4M U.S. viewers, up 50% over its freshman run in the same timeframe. The Pitt has now become the sixth current HBO Max series to surpass 15M domestic viewers after House of the Dragon, The White Lotus, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, The Last of Us and IT: Welcome to Derry.

Earlier this year, The Pitt returned to HBO Max last week with 5.4M U.S. viewers tuning in for the premiere episode in its first three days of availability, which Warner Bros. Discovery said at the time was up nearly 200% from the series debut within that window.

The company also previously revealed that Season 1 was averaging about 10M viewers per episode just ahead of the finale. That grew to 18M global viewers per episode in September, following the show’s impressive Emmys sweep.

The series, which was created by by R. Scott Gemmill, stars Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch and follows a group of healthcare workers at a hospital in Pittsburgh. It also stars Patrick Ball as Dr. Langdon, Katherine LaNasa as Dana Evans, Supriya Ganesh as Dr. Mohan, Fiona Dourif as Dr. McKay, Taylor Dearden as Dr. King, Isa Briones as Dr. Santos, Gerran Howell as Whitaker, Shabana Azeez as Javadi, and Sepideh Moafi as Dr. Al-Hashimi.

Season 2 picked up 10 months after the events of Season 1 and took place over Fourth of July weekend. The Pitt has already been renewed for Season 3.
