He’s one of the best players in the Argentinian team – and now a study has revealed that Rodrigo De Paul is also the most handsome footballer at the World Cup.
Experts have used the Golden Ratio to uncover the most beautiful players competing in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The Golden Ratio is a mathematical equation devised by the Greeks in an attempt to measure beauty.
According to the analysis, Rodrigo De Paul is the best looking player, ahead of Germany‘s Kai Havertz, and England’s Noni Madueke.
‘The fun thing about this ranking is that it does not simply mirror football fame,’ explained Georgi Dimitrov, CEO of DreamAI SRL, which ran the analysis.
He added: ‘Some of the names people might expect to dominate are much further down, while Rodrigo De Paul comes out on top ahead of some of the most recognisable players in the world.
‘Cristiano Ronaldo is probably the best example of that. He is one of the most image–conscious footballers ever, but he ranks 45th here, which shows how specific the Golden Ratio is.
‘It is not measuring style, grooming, confidence or how marketable someone is. It is looking at facial proportion, which is a very different thing.’

The Golden Ratio can be applied to almost anything, and was even used by Leonardo da Vinci for the perfect human male body in his famous work, the Vitruvian Man.
The premise behind the Golden Ratio is that the closer the ratios of a face or body are to the number 1.618 (Phi), the more beautiful they become.
For their study, experts from DreamAI took a list of the 150 most Googled footballers competing at the World Cup, and fed it into the Golden Face Ratio tool.
Overall, Rodrigo De Paul ranked as the best looking player, with a score of 74.18 per cent.
Germany’s Kai Havertz was second (74.10 per cent), ahead of England’s Noni Madueke (73.29 per cent), Egypt’s Mohamed Salah (73.27 per cent), and Brazil’s Endrick (73.25 per cent).
Several other major names made the top 25, including Cody Gakpo, Bruno Fernandes, Alisson, Neymar and Jude Bellingham.
Surprisingly, Cristiano Ronaldo ranked 45th with a score of 70.98 per cent, while Vinícius Jr followed closely in 46th with 70.97 per cent.
‘Germany doing so well near the top is also a nice surprise,’ Mr Dimitrov said.
Mohamed Salah is the fourth most handsome footballer competing at the World Cup, according to the analysis
For their study, experts from DreamAI took a list of the 150 most Googled footballers competing at the World Cup, and fed it into the Golden Face Ratio tool with Brazil’s Endrick in fifth and South Korea’s Son Heung-Min in sixth
‘Kai Havertz ranks second, Nick Woltemade seventh and Jonathan Tah eighth, so Germany has three players in the top eight.
‘That is probably not the country most people would immediately expect to stand out in this kind of ranking.
‘There are a few other interesting contrasts too. Neymar and Jude Bellingham both make the top 25, but they still sit behind players like Noni Madueke, Endrick and Son Heung–Min.
‘Mohamed Salah ranking fourth is also notable, because he is already one of the most recognisable faces in football and also scores very highly on facial balance.
‘What this shows is that beauty on paper and beauty in the real world are not always the same thing.
‘A player can have huge presence, style and charisma without ranking right at the top, while someone else can score highly because their features happen to sit closer to the Golden Ratio.’
However, these footballers pale in comparison to many Hollywood stars, who have almost perfect scores compared to the Golden Ratio.
A recent analysis by plastic surgeon Dr Julian De Silva found that Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the most handsome man in the world with an impressive score of 93.04 per cent, ahead of Lucien Laviscount (92.41 per cent), Paul Mescal (92.38 per cent) and Robert Pattinson (92.15 per cent).
Scotland’s Scott McTominay is the tenth most handsome footballer, according to the analysis
Surprisingly, Cristiano Ronaldo ranked 45th with a score of 70.98 per cent, while Vinícius Jr followed closely in 46th with 70.97 per cent
‘Aaron was the clear winner when all elements of the face were measured for physical perfection,’ Dr De Silva explained.
‘His 93.04 per cent score would easily make him the most handsome James Bond in the history if he does land the role as expected.
‘He is well ahead of all the James Bond actors – Sean Connery, in second place with 89.2 per cent, with Roger Moore in third on 88.8 per cent and Daniel Craig in last place – behind George Lazenby – on 84.2 per cent.’
