If disaster struck, where would you go?
If you have £35,000 going spare, the answer could be this futuristic pod.
Momentum Technologies, a tech company based in France, has unveiled a shelter that can fend off everything from bullets to bombings.
Dubbed Lifepod, the capsule is built from high–strength technical steels, yet is designed to be entirely mobile.
‘Unlike traditional protection infrastructure, which is often fixed and specialised in a single risk, the LIFEPODS capsules have been engineered to be mobile, transportable, industrialisable, rapidly deployable and adaptable to operational contexts,’ the firm behind it explained.
‘They can be containerised, helicopter–transportable, stackable, and integrated in urban areas, on industrial sites or in remote environments.’
Unsurprisingly, the futuristic shelters don’t come cheap.
The Lifepods are listed as ranging in price from £25,404 to £34,904 for the capsule alone.

W01 is a floating capsule designed to be used by two to four people during extreme weather events, such as tsunamis, flash floods, coastal flooding, and dam and levee breaches.
‘Its 5083 marine–grade aluminum structure, buoyancy system, integrated ballast, and interior equipment provide temporary shelter for a family or small group of occupants,’ the company explains on its website.
‘The capsule is designed to float, withstand debris impacts, and keep its occupants safe until rescue arrives.’
According to its designers, tests on the W01 have been ‘very encouraging’, although a release date remains unclear.
B01, meanwhile, is designed for one to two people searching for shelter from hostile environments.
‘The B01 was designed to provide a protected space against ballistic threats, shrapnel, armed attacks, and highly degraded environments,’ said Momentum Technologies.
‘It is intended for sensitive sites, critical infrastructure, security forces, industrial companies, and organizations requiring a rapid, compact, and pre–positionable protection solution.

Q01 is specially designed to withstand earthquakes, structural collapses, and disasters related to building instability
‘The capsule allows its occupants to take shelter and lock the system in seconds.’
The B01 is currently in its ‘industrialisation phase’, with final validations due this month.
Finally, Q01 is specially designed to withstand earthquakes, structural collapses, and disasters related to building instability.
Momentum Technologies added: ‘The Q01 is intended for areas highly exposed to earthquakes and sudden collapses.
‘Its objective is to provide a compact, accessible, and resilient refuge, increasing the chances of survival when immediate evacuation of a building is no longer possible.’
The pods were revealed at the VivaTech show in Paris, where Momentum Technologies’ founder, Cedric Choffat, revealed his vision for the future.
‘The market is now confirming the strategic interest in our next–generation resilience solutions,’ he said.
‘Our objective is to accelerate industrialisation, certifications, the structuring of production and the commercial deployment of our capsules – turning this international visibility into concrete operational deployments.’

The news comes shortly after scientists revealed what you need in your emergency kit if you’re prepping for WWIII.
On the government website, a ‘household emergency plan’ reveals a list of ’emergency supplies’ such as bottled water, wet wipes and non–perishable food.
But according to scientists, the list omits some important items that could be crucial for survival.
If the UK goes into lockdown, a gas–powered generator could provide a key backup power source, while a face mask could help to filter out harmful smoke.
