Teen Mom 2 alum Jenelle Evans is defending her decision to homeschool her two younger children.
In a video shared to her Instagram, Evans, 34, told followers she wasn’t the teacher, explaining: ‘I just put them on the computer.’
Evans began her message by explaining the ‘many different reasons’ why she made the switch from public school to homeschooling, one of them being she wanted to stop the bullying aimed at her son, Kaiser, 12.
‘Kaiser was having a really hard time being bullied at school,’ Evans said. ‘And he dealt with this in Vegas, he dealt with this in North Carolina, and I was sick of it. So as soon as he got to this school, it was bullying once again, mainly having to do with his weight.’
The former reality star, who helped her eldest son, Jace, celebrate his 17th birthday last month amid family conflict, mentioned another reason for the homeschooling was she was diagnosed with CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) earlier this year, following knee surgery.
CRPS is a rare and severe condition that can affect an arm or a leg and usually starts after an injury, surgery or stroke, with the resulting pain lasting longer and stronger than normal, according to National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

‘So I literally cannot drive them to and from school because I am literally in too much pain,’ Evans continued. ‘Their school is 40 minutes there and back morning and afternoon. I literally was taking two hours, three hours out of my morning and afternoon just to do drop offs and pick ups.’
One of the upsides of homeschooling is she doesn’t have to ‘worry about any craziness being instilled inside their head.’
‘And if I do have to do any traveling, they can go with me,’ Evans added.
‘First week of homeschooling has been going great and they have literally been getting their school work done in two hours. And I’m always right here if they need my help.’
‘If you’re wondering about the program I have them in, it’s called Acellus or something? So far? No complaints,’ she concluded.
Followers expressed mixed reactions in the comments with some mocking her and others supporting her.
’45 min there and back twice a day is only an hour and a half, not three hours so probably good they’re on the computer for math,’ one shared, adding: ‘but good for you for doing what you feel is best for your fam!’

‘This is the worst idea ever,’ one commenter put it bluntly
‘You can travel but can’t take them to school,’ questioned yet another.
One follower railed: ‘What level college degree do you have? Or was it a certification???’
‘You dont even know the name of the program? [sic]’ another jibed.
Others were more accepting of Evans’ choice with one writing: ‘I homeschool and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. There’s lots of homeschool resources right here on IG and lots on tik tok. Also look on Facebook for homeschool groups in ur area and for social interaction put them in a bunch of extra curricular activities so they have the opportunity to socialize.’
‘I don’t even really consider this homeschooling since you’re not the teacher. Sounds like remote school which has already been so common since Covid,’ one follower echoed.
Evans is mom to three children, Kaiser, with ex-boyfriend, Nathan Griffith; Ensley, nine, with estranged husband, David Eason; and Jace, 17, with her ex, Andrew Lewis.
Jace spent time in a mental health facility earlier this year after allegedly pulling a gun on his grandmother, Barbara Evans.

But the teenager is reportedly back living with his grandmother in North Carolina.
Evans shared an update on her eldest son on the La Femme Talk podcast in April.
‘Behind the scenes, I’ve been actually getting help for my son as needed, and he’s in a safe place [in a] holistic approach,’ she said.
‘And he’s very happy right now, and he’s very focused on himself. And I think that’s the most important thing.’
