Sydney Sweeney left fans baffled this week as she claimed she had never been to an iconic New York City landmark – despite visiting seven months prior.
The giddy Euphoria star, 28, was filmed by boyfriend Scooter Braun taking in Times Square after telling the music manager she had ‘never been’ there.
Braun, 44, shared a clip captioned: ‘When you’re in bed at 11pm and your girl says “I’ve never been to Times Square…’
In the video the couple rode Citi Bikes before dining on cheeseburgers.
They stopped in Times Square as Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ track Empire State of Mind played in the background and Sweeney sang along.
Sweeney and Braun then checked out her American Eagle billboard in the iconic location.

However fans were quick to point out video and photo evidence that Sweeney has indeed visited Times Square in the past, memorably on her promo tour for Glen Powell rom-com, Anyone But You.
Sweeney was seen stepping out in Times Square in a chic cream look in December 2023, with behind-the-scenes footage of her and Powell, 37, showing the pair walking past the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway.
In the clip Sweeney says, ‘Where are we?’ with Powell responding, ‘Times Square.’
Again Sweeney says, ‘I’ve never been to Times Square!’
The pair are seen arriving in Times Square to view Anyone But You’s billboard, with Powell adding, ‘That’s the funny part about Syd. You realize she’s done everything and yet nothing.’
She also visited Times Square in November 2025 as she promoted her biopic Christy.
One fan quipped: ‘She ‘never been to Times Square’ but was there with Glen Powell in 2023 doing promo? The math ain’t mathing. Scooter got the recycled tour.
A second wrote: ‘She probably just forgot.’

Sweeney has been raising eyebrows with her naked scenes on Euphoria, with the season finale airing on Sunday.
Braun has expressed his approval for the show. Without naming his girlfriend, he coyly said he’s a fan of her ‘incredible performance.’
‘I’m biased, I like it. I think there’s been an incredible performance by a certain actress,’ Braun said as he praised her acting chops.
Viewers of the Sam Levinson-created show have seen the blonde bombshell at her most provocative in season three as she depicts an adult content creator.
A recent episode showed her character almost completely nude and wrangling with a yellow python, while others have seen her dress as a baby and a dog while indulging in fetish work.
A source previously told Page Six: ‘Scooter has absolutely no issue with Sydney’s more provocative scenes in Euphoria or any of the work she does as an actress.
‘He fully understands that it’s part of her job and respects how dedicated she is to her craft.’
The insider insisted that their relationship is strong, and Braun is supportive of her nearly nude and risqué scenes.
Braun gushed about his romance with the SYRN lingerie designer on Second Thought, describing their relationship as ‘one of the biggest surprises ever.’
The couple were first romantically linked in June 2025 after they were seen together at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s Venice wedding.
Braun said part of how he defines ‘self-worth’ is through his relationship.
He told Weiss: ‘I’ve met an extraordinary woman who is kind and generous and smart, and real and down to earth.’

Euphoria creator Sam has been under scrutiny thanks to Sydney’s ‘degrading’ OnlyFans storyline which has been described as a ‘humiliation ritual’.
Yet for Sweeney’s part, she told The Independent in 2022 that she never felt pushed into doing naked scenes, and said Sam welcomed feedback.
Despite Sweeney’s assurances, viewers have claimed that Levinson’s ‘disturbing’ and ‘misogynistic’ storylines for the new season ‘lost the plot’.
