Netflix’s latest animated original Swapped made a major leap in the Netflix Top 10 hitting 38.7 million views during the May 4-10 window, a single-week record for any animated original at the studio. This marks a major leap after premiering the following week with 15.5 million views.
The previous record holder for animated original was The Sea Beast with 34.9 million views over a weeks period. That film also set the record during its second week on the streamer. Other animated films to surpass 30 million views over a weeks time include Leo with 34.6 million in its first week and Kpop: Demon Hunters hitting 30.1 million views in its 11th week (as we all know, this film would go on to break a number of Netflix viewing records).
The film stars Michael B. Jordan, Juno Temple and Tracy Morgan star in this film from director Nathan Greno. This marked the second straight week a film had increased in viewership prior to its premiere with the survival thriller Apex also seeing a bump in numbers during its second window.
Other notable films on this weeks top ten include Apex and Remarkably Bright Creatures landed in #2 and #3 spots with 16.2M and 10.4M Views respectively.
