Sharon Stone stepped out for a rare family outing with her youngest son Quinn in Beverly Hills on Friday, though the relaxed stroll appeared to take an unexpectedly tense turn.

The Basic Instinct icon, 68, was seen flashing a series of intense expressions as she gestured sharply with her hand at one point.

While it remains unclear what prompted the moment, the actress was later seen following a few steps behind her son along the pavement in the upscale neighborhood.

Dressed in a baby blue jacket, white shirt and black trousers, Stone cut a polished figure while still exuding her trademark Hollywood glamour.

Quinn, 20, kept things casual in a black T-shirt, olive trousers and a pair of Converse trainers as he walked ahead of his mother.

Stone first became a mother in 2000 when she and then-husband Phil Bronstein adopted their eldest son Roan, now 26, later welcoming sons Laird, 21, and Quinn through adoption in 2005 and 2006 respectively.

In her memoir The Beauty Of Living Twice, Sharon Stone reflected on the difficult journey that shaped her path to motherhood and family life.

She revealed she grew up in ‘near poverty in Pennsylvania’s Amish country’ and became pregnant at 18 by her ‘first serious boyfriend’, later undergoing a secret abortion.

Too young to legally have the procedure in Pennsylvania, she said her boyfriend drove her to Ohio to end the pregnancy.

After rising to fame, Stone described a turbulent personal life marked by broken engagements and two failed marriages.

During her marriage to Bronstein, she attempted to conceive naturally but faced complications linked to an autoimmune condition and endometriosis.

She later shared on Instagram that, over the course of her life, she has ‘lost nine children by miscarriage’.

Stone and Bronstein adopted their son Roan in 2000, but after their split in 2004 they became embroiled in a lengthy custody battle that lasted 14 years.

Bronstein was granted primary custody in 2008, with Roan remaining in San Francisco, a decision Stone has described as deeply painful.

‘After I lost primary custody of Roan, I couldn’t function,’ she wrote in her memoir. ‘I just lay on the couch. I was so damn tired. I would cry. I couldn’t focus on anything but having my son back in my arms. Nothing else mattered, just getting him back.’

Although she later signed a confidentiality agreement regarding the custody dispute, Stone has claimed her role in Basic Instinct was used against her during the proceedings as she tried to maintain custody rights.

The film famously includes the scene in which she crosses her legs during an interrogation, revealing she is not wearing underwear.

Appearing on the Table For Two podcast, she also alleged that the judge in the custody case asked Roan: ‘Do you know your mother makes sex movies?’

The outing with Quinn comes after Stone revealed she was violently attacked in her own home 10 years ago and though she reported the incident she never pressed charges.

The Hollywood icon was ‘hit from behind’ and ‘didn’t really know’ the extent of the damage to her body until a decade later.

The actress has recalled the horrifying assault by an unnamed perpetrator, and it was ‘years later’ when a doctor found evidence of a ‘felony’ during a medical exam.

Speaking on The Person Who Believed In Me podcast, Sharon said: ‘I don’t know how much I can tell about this. I was hit from behind.

‘I didn’t really know until 10 years later what had happened to me because I woke up. I was unconscious on the floor. The two couches were sideways. The coffee table was all over the place.’

Stone added, ‘It was sort of upside down. Everything that had been on the coffee table was all over the floor and I didn’t know how I got there.’

Although the podcast host David Begnaud asked who attacked Stone, she refused to reveal the name ‘publicly.’
