The threat begins Tuesday across the Northern Plains, where afternoon thunderstorms are expected to develop from the Dakotas through Nebraska and into parts of the Rockies.

By midweek, storms will shift south into the central Plains and Rockies, with thunderstorms reforming across Kansas, eastern Oklahoma and eastern Colorado.
