Seth Meyers missed out taking a dunk on President Donald Trump after he fell asleep during the Knicks loss to the San Antonia Spurs the other night, but he opened his latest A Closer Look segment with another buzzer beater.
The Late Night host mocked the fact that Trump missed the Knicks huge comeback win last night.
“Last night, we got an answer to the question ‘How long does it take to get Donald Trump’s bad vibes out of a building he recently visited? The answer was two and a half quarters. What a night for the Knicks,” he said. “It’s kind of sad that he missed the game because if anybody needs to know that a 29 point comeback is possible, it’s hum after looking at his approval ratings.”
Meyers segment was largely focused on Trump’s repeated broken promises of a deal with Iran, a move that even some Fox News hosts have started to question. This comes after Trump once again noted that a deal would be announced shortly.
The NBC host compared Trump’s repeated lies about the war in Iran to HBO’s repeated streaming rebrands.
“It’s no surprise that even conservative news outlets are losing patience,” he said. “Trump has promised a deal with Iran more times than HBO has rebranded. At this point, we’ve been through Iran Deal, Iran Deal Go, Iran Deal Now, Iran Deal Plus, Iran Deal Max to just Max, back to Iran Deal Max, back to Iran Deal Plus. I just hope we get a spin off called The Pitt of Hormuz.”
