See Romance For Nick Robinson & Emilia Jones

Fresh off his turn in Netflix’s hit com com Voicemails for Isabelle comes yet another romance film for Nick Robinson, who stars in Charlie Harper alongside Emilia Jones.

The trailer for the indie film, written by Tom Dean who directs with Mac Eldridge, now has an official trailer from Row K — the company that purchased the film out of the 2025 Toronto Film Festival.

Charlie Harper is an emotional modern romance that explores the tension between love, ambition, identity, and personal growth. Through the evolving relationship of Charlie (Robinson) and Harper (Jones), the film examines what happens when two people deeply connected to one another begin growing in different directions, forcing them to confront whether love alone is enough.

The clip begins with Harper playing a CD that has “Only Play This Once” written on it in sharpie.

“Is there something in your future that you’re worried about?” Charlie asks Harper as they look through tarot cards. He holds “The Tower” card in hand as he asks this.

Harper’s answer is that the fact that “anything’s possible” in the future is daunting because she only wants “one thing to be possible.”

The clips shows the evolution of the pair’s romance over time from the moment they meet to rifts in their relationship.

“Sometimes I wonder if everything I remember is wrong,” Charlie muses towards the end of a clip. “The truth is between the things that happened and the memories I have.”

Jones’ Harper cries in a car, but hears her name called twice as Charlie aggressively runs toward her in the rain — which he does similarly in Leah McKendrick’s Netflix rom com starring alongside Zoey Deutch — to embrace her after what seems like a dramatic and heartbreaking separation.

The clip comes full circle when a younger Charlie tells Harper not to play something too much because he doesn’t want it to lose “that thing.”

Charlie Harper, which is produced by Wyck Godfrey, Isaac Klausner, Laura Quicksilver, Patrick Wachsberger, Ashley Stern and Mallory Edens, arrives in theaters September 25.
