Sandra Bullock has famously kept her children away from the spotlight, but the actress appears to be changing course with her new film Practical Magic 2.

The 62-year-old actress told Access Hollywood on Monday in Los Angeles that her kids, Louis, 16, and Laila, 12, have blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameos in the motion picture.

‘They’re in the movie but not in an obvious way to you, not in an obvious way,’ said Bullock, who reprises her role of Sally Owens in the sequel to the 1998 film.

The Academy Award-winning star continued, ‘I can’t wait to show them where it is – they don’t know where it is.’

The Speed actress told the outlet that her kids had attended the premiere with friends, but did not make a red carpet entrance.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Bullock for further comment on the story.

Bullock said she’s ‘unbelievably proud’ of her children, citing milestones as a parent she’s observed.

‘And what’s amazing, is that something happens when you have kids where you stop being the influence on them,’ the Bird Box actress said, ‘and they become the influence on you.’

Bullock, who has been famously shielded her kids from the limelight, told the outlet about aspects of their personalities.

The Blind Side star called Louis her ‘steadfast, moral barometer,’ adding, ‘I’m always like, “What would Louis do?”‘

She continued, ‘And when it comes to like spotting things and thinking forward – it’s Lai.

‘It’s just like, they’re so completely different but yet they just give me two halves of a whole – it’s amazing.’

Bullock in 2010 adopted Louis out of New Orleans, initially with ex-husband Jesse James, and subsequently raised him as a single parent in the wake of their split.

She adopted Laila, who had been in foster care, in 2015, and had been raising them with her late beau Bryan Randall prior to his tragic death three years ago after battling ALS.

Bullock last week likened her protective traits to her Practical Magic character Owens, while attending the film’s premiere in London.

‘The fearfulness of what I think to be normal, that is me to the core,’ she told People. ‘And my children will tell you the same.’

She told the outlet that as protective as she is, she accepts that she can’t fully keep them from tougher times in life.

‘I think any mother will tell you all you want is for them to not have the same pain as you did,’ she said. ‘But guess what? That’s not their journey.

‘The pains make you the full, rounded person that you’re supposed to be.’

Bullock, appearing on Red Table Talk in late 2021, spoke about the timing of becoming a parent in her 40s.

‘I don’t know why that was the only route, but I’m so glad the universe had me wait,’ Bullock said in the interview. ‘Had me wait even though I was anxious and I was eager – and it went nope, you’re not going to do it the way you think you’re going to do it.’

The motion picture, which also features Nicole Kidman, Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest, arrives in theaters September 11.
