EXCLUSIVE: Prime Video will launch its next Indian movie globally on May 22. System, directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, will drop in 240 Prime Video territories.
The high-stakes legal drama pic stars Sonakshi Sinha, Jyotika and Ashutosh Gowariker, and was unveiled in March at the Prime Video Presents upfront in India, which featured 69 film and TV titles.
The film comes from Baweja Studios, with Pammi Baweja, Harman Baweja and Smitha Baliga the producers, and Harman Baweja, Arun Sukumar, director Tiwari, Tasneem Lokhandwala and Akshat Ghildial the writers.
The film follows the unlikely connection between Neha Rajvansh (Sinha), a public prosecutor, and Sarika Rawat (Jyotika), a courtroom stenographer who comes from a humble background. Per the synopsis, “Despite their distinctly different social standings, the team up to fight for justice and truth even it means going up against the most powerful.”

For Prime Video India, the pic is the latest in a long line of movie originals, including The Mehta Boys, Maja Ma and Ammu. No theatrical launch for this one.
