On the heels of Sunday’s Season 1 finale, Masterpiece PBS is giving us a first look at the upcoming second season of The Forstyes.
Season 2 premieres next year on Masterpiece on PBS with actors Richard Rankin (Outlander, Rebus), Sarah Alexander (Pennyworth, Jonathan Creek) and Nia Ashi (Bob Marley: One Love) joining the cast. The adaptation of John Galsworthy’s novel, The Forsyte Saga, The Forsytes is a sweeping portrait of a wealthy British family in 1880s London. Per the official logline: Desire, ambition and betrayal simmer at the heart of the The Forsytes which chronicles the lives, loves, trials and triumphs of a wealthy Victorian era stockbroking family, whose generations find themselves torn between tradition and self-sacrifice versus personal happiness and the pursuit of love.
The Forsytes was renewed in March for a third season, ahead of the Season 1 premiere.
The series is produced by Mammoth Screen. Debbie Horsfield (Poldark) penned the adaptation. Executive producers are Horsfield, Meenu Gaur, Michael Ray, and Damien Timmer for Mammoth Screen, part of ITV Studios. Susanne Simpson executive produces for Masterpiece.
