Paul Gascoigne‘s son Mason has been pleading for help after his girlfriend Jaimee was diagnosed with an ‘aggressive and incurable’ brain tumour aged just 28.

Former footballer Gascoigne’s daughter-in-law Jaimee Sharp has an incurable brain tumour and Mason is trying to raise £320k for treatment for her in America so that she has more time with their son Teddy, aged five.

A GoFundMe has been set up and Jaimee wrote: ‘Hi, my name is Jaimee. I’m 28 years old and a mum to my 5 year old little boy, Teddy.

‘As well as a mum, I am a daughter, a sister, a partner, and a friend.

‘My whole life changed when I was diagnosed with an aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer (IDH1-Mutant, CNS WHO grade 4 Astrocytoma).

‘I’ve undergone major brain surgery to remove as much of the tumour as possible, and now going through Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy treatment.

‘Unfortunately, with this type of cancer, even after the standard treatment the tumour will progress and no one can predict how quickly. The median survival rate is about 5 years.’

She continued: ‘More than anything, I desperately want more time with my little boy. Being Teddy’s mummy is my whole reason for existence. And I’m not ready to say goodbye.’

Jaimee has been given a ‘glimmer of hope’ because she has been offered a rare opportunity to take part in a clinical trial at a hospital in Ohio for a new drug for a tumour like hers.

She needs £320,516 to give her ‘a realistic chance of completing this trial’ and needs to raise the amount in just one month.

Jaimee penned: ‘I accept that there is no cure for my cancer, but there is an opportunity for more time – and I need that.

‘I need to watch my son’s smiles and laughter on more Christmas mornings. To be there for more birthdays, and to watch him become the young man I’ve always imagined.

‘I’m not asking one person to make this possible. I’m asking as many people as possible to help in whatever way they can.

‘Every donation, no matter how small, matters. And if you aren’t able to donate, please share this page.

‘One share could put my story in front of somebody who can help. Please help me reach this goal, and hopefully get more time with my precious boy.’

Jaimee has raised 50% of the amount so far.

Mason, who was adopted by Paul as a child, said: ‘We just need your help to just share this as far and wide as it possibly can go.

‘We’re trying to achieve this goal so we can have the time we deserve with her and she has time she deserves with her five-year-old boy so please like, share and donate as much as you can.

‘I know times are hard but we appreciate it, even if it’s a pound. I just wanna say thank you to everyone.’

He added later on Tuesday morning: ‘I just want to say thank you, the support from everyone has been amazing. £145k since Friday is just incredible. I can’t thank everyone enough.

‘We’re nearly halfway there, there is still a long way to go, but we are going to get there. Firstly, thank you for the support and the sharing.

‘But secondly, it’s what it’s done for Jaimee. It’s given her this hope and this belief… and this community she never knew was there for her.

‘It’s been beautiful to see her face light up just watching it happen and the support from everyone.’

Mason is the son of Sheryl Gascoigne and her first husband Colin Kyle. Both he and his sister Bianca were adopted by Paul.

Paul and Sheryl married in 1996 but divorced two years later after a rocky relationship.

Mason and Jaimee welcomed Teddy into the world back in March 2021, making Paul a grandfather for the first time.

Bianca welcomed her first child, a daughter called Blake Sunshine in February 2023.

Please visit Jaimee’s GoFundMe to donate.
