Nina Dobrev suffered a humiliating exchange at the Venice Film Festival after seemingly being asked to move off the red carpet by security.
The 37-year-old actress looked effortlessly chic as she descended on the event in an Armani Privé strapless gown.
The floor-length dress was bedazzled in black sequins that gradually tapered away to reveal a green mesh beneath.
Dobrev took her place in front of the photographers as she prepared for her photoshoot – but was promptly interrupted.
An unnamed man, wearing an all black suit, suddenly strode into view directly in front of Dobrev and lifted his left arm to gesture that she move along.
He appeared to mutter several instructions to an unimpressed Dobrev before a woman off camera seemed to briefly intervene.
Dobrev was then able to steal a few seconds in front of camera as she playfully twirled the two long drapes at her midriff with a very stern expression.
However, members of security then quickly re-emerged and ushered her away.

Dobrev pulled an awkward frowning face before moving away and letting out a giggle in apparent disbelief.
The star briefly waved to photographers gathered on the other side of the carpet but did not stop.
The clip quickly began circulating on social media as one X user wrote: ‘If I were Nina Dobrev getting kicked off of the Venice Film Festival red carpet, I would’ve evaporated from sheer embarrassment.’
‘Did she stay too long, or was it their lack of organization? Either way, it was embarrassing,’ another questioned.
‘Why the f**k did they send Nina Dobrev away like that from the Venice red carpet?’ a third added.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Venice Film Festival for comment.
The exchange comes after Dobrev recently fueled romance speculation with hunky male model Dougie Joseph after being spotted in New York City back in June.
Dobrev and former Olympic snowboarder Shaun White ended their engagement in September 2025.
The two stars first crossed paths in 2019 and went Instagram official with their romance the following year.

In May 2022, the pair made their red carpet debut as they attended the star-studded premiere of Top Gun: Maverick in London.
Two years later, Dobrev and White announced that they were engaged after his romantic proposal in NYC.
However, last year in September, it was revealed that the stars had decided to end the engagement and go their separate ways.
‘It was a mutual decision, and wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another,’ a source told People at the time.
