TWO people have been arrested after a child died in hospital.
Police have launched a murder investigation in Slough following the incident.
A 27-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of murder and grievous bodily harm on Thursday (March 26).
They have since been released on conditional police bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Nick Hind, of the Major Crime Unit at Thames Valley Police, said: “This is an exceptionally tragic incident, in which a child has sustained serious injuries and, very sadly, has subsequently tragically passed away in hospital.
“Our enquiries are still at an early stage.
“Two individuals have been arrested in relation to this incident and have been released on conditional police bail while our investigation continues and further lines of enquiry are explored.
“I appreciate that an incident of this nature will cause significant concern within the community.
“However, based on the information we have at this time, we do not believe there is any broader threat to the public.”
