The 2026 Global Citizen Festival in New York’s Central Park next month will feature a line-up including Ms. Lauryn Hill & Wyclef Jean celebrating the 30th anniversary of Fugees’ album The Score, Lenny Kravitz, John Legend, Lainey Wilson, Shaboozey, and Tomorrow X Together.
Taking place on Central Park’s Great Lawn on Saturday, September 26, the festival will be hosted by Hugh Jackman, and feature appearances by Rachel Brosnahan and Gayle King, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.
The line-up was announced today by Global Citizen, considered the world’s largest movement to end extreme poverty.
Following the success of the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show, which was produced by Global Citizen and helped raise $60 million for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, this year’s festival will raise awareness for what the organization says are three core issues perpetuating cycles of extreme poverty across the world. The goals as stated are to create opportunities for 2 million children to go to school, support 1.5 million smallholder farmers, and provide electricity for 2.5 million homes.
Tickets to the Global Citizen Festival are free and can be secured by visiting the Global Citizen app and earning points by completing “action journeys” related to the core issues. Points can be redeemed by entering the free ticket lottery or making a $25 charitable donation to instantly secure a ticket. Funds raised will go to New York City’s City Parks Foundation to support their youth education programming and parks initiatives across all five boroughs, as well as to organizations helping those experiencing homelessness across the city.
“It’s time to gather once again on the Great Lawn, in the middle of New York City, to tell the world an end to extreme poverty is possible,” said Jackman, Global Citizen Ambassador, in a statement.
