HERNDON, Va. (DC News Now) — A 19-year-old was arrested after he was accused of making threats while armed with a semi-automatic rifle in a Herndon restaurant parking lot.
The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. on June 6 in the 100 block of Elden Street.
Herndon police responded to the incident after a person was reportedly making threats with a gun. Once on the scene, officers spoke with the business’s private security and learned that the 19-year-old was allegedly threatening people inside the establishment and claiming that he had a gun.
Officers located the Norinco MAK-90 Sporter and Brown Callahan was arrested. Police added that the rifle is a “highly regarded Chinese semi-automatic AK variant” and had a total of 51 rounds of ammunition.
The Springfield man was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was released on an unsecured bond.
