Love Island’s long-awaited Casa Amor twist kicked off on Sunday night, and one of the girls was quick to surprise the boys with a revelation about her past.

After heading to the famous second villa, the boys were delighted to learn they would be joined by six glamorous girls looking to turn their heads.

One of these girls was Martha Rothwell, a personal shopper, and Lorenzo and Finley wasted little time getting to know her.

Martha then shared with the boys that she was bisexual, and had previously been in a nine-month relationship with a woman.

She said: ‘My recent ex was a girl. We were together for nine months.

‘I’ve had situationships with boys since then. It was good, it was just different.

‘Dating men and they were all just ending terribly. My friends were like, ”you need to try a girl” so I changed all my dating apps.

‘So when you said ”what’s my type” I don’t really know.’

Prior to entering the villa, Martha had kept her cards close to her chest when revealing her dream man.

She said: ‘I always say tall, dark and handsome. But in the past, all my exes have looked so different.

‘So I think it’s more about personality, someone who can make you laugh and just give you those flutters.’

The boys were quick to get to know the stunning girls that had joined them in Casa Amor, with Olivia and Charleen chatting to Kavan and Aidan, with Sean also sharing how he knew Charleen from back home in Ireland.

Samraj and Simba also spent time with Mara and Neveah – and Simba dropped a heavy hint that they’re his type.

Prior to the Casa Amor episode hitting screens, it was revealed that one of the boys had been removed from the villa after ‘a situation about his past’ was brought to ITV bosses’ attention.

Gabriel Garland entered the villa as one of the Casa Amor bombshells, but just hours before his debut hit screens, ITV confirmed he had been axed from the show.

It’s being reported that after Gabriel was unveiled as part of the lineup, ITV were made aware that he was referenced in court documents relating to the conviction of Vitor Mazzer.

Mazzer was found guilty of two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent following a party in Casewick Road, London, on New Year’s Eve in 2019.

Court documents state Gabriel attended the party with Mazzer, and say that two victims had an altercation with Gabriel before Mazzer stabbed them.

Gabriel’s mother, Joanne Garland, gave a character statement for her son – who was 17 at the time of the incident – in court.

The Sun reported that Gabriel was not charged with any offence and this judgement makes no finding of wrongdoing against him.

Mazzer was jailed for 42 months, and his appeal against conviction was refused in April 2024.

When contacted by the Daily Mail, a representative for ITV said: ‘Gabriel has now left the Villa and will not be returning.’
