Kristen Stewart opted for an unusual take as she walked the red carpet alongside Emma Mackey for the Fully Phil Cannes film premiere on Saturday.

The Twilight actress, 26, was seen pictured putting up two fingers to the crowd as she attended the 79th annual Cannes Film Festival at Palais des Festivals.

But as she graced the crowds in a glittery red and black, floor-length dress, she was seen regularly using inappropriate hand gestures to the crowds.

In the past, Kirsten has been known to put up a middle finger to cameramen, as she has always had a distaste for public life and celebrity, and in 2016 made it part of her persona to flip off paparazzi, as detailed by The Cut.

And it appears that Kristen has not changed how she feels towards life in the public eye as she trudged down the carpet in a pair of black tennis boots.

Meanwhile, Emma, who stars as La fille du marais (the girl of the marsh) in the flick, put on a very glamorous display in a figure-hugging, floor-length gown which featured a cut-out panel across the waist.

Her stunning dress featured a meter-long train, a high neck and 80s-inspired padded shoulders.

Full Phil, which stars Woody Harrelson, sees a rich American industrialist’s Paris trip with his estranged daughter Madeleine (played by Kristen) go awry when French food, a vintage horror movie, and a meddling hotel worker interfere with their plans.

Kirsten’s appearance comes after she left little to the imagination as she caught the eye in a stylish sheer grey co-ord at a photocall for their new comedy.

The racy look boasted an oversized top with a plunging neckline and a matching skirt, both of which featured bejewelled pockets.

Kristen rocked an androgynous hairdo with her dark locks styled into a mullet and she completed the look with casual trainers.

It comes after Kristen revealed she feels ‘haunted’ by Princess Diana, and the mere thought of the late royal leaves her in tears ‘at any moment’.

The actress, portrayed the late Princess of Wales – who died in a car accident in Paris in 1997, aged 36 – in 2021 psychological drama film Spencer.

Kristen said whenever she thinks about Diana she becomes emotional and that she cannot drive around London or Paris without thoughts of the late Princess invading her mind.

Speaking about being ‘haunted’ by Diana, she told the Daily Telegraph: ‘I still am. I can’t drive round this city, and Paris for that matter, without thinking about her. All the love that poured out of this woman… I can cry about her at any moment.’

The American star thought Spencer director Pablo Larrain was ‘insane’ for casting her as the British royal, and he pleaded with the filmmaker to cast someone else – but he refused.

She added: ‘I told Pablo he was insane and he should probably hire someone else, but he refused to accept that. There were some massive distinctions between her and me.

‘It was the statuesque thing. It was the eye colour – I have green eyes; she has very famously blue eyes that match her ring. So I was like, ‘Should we make the engagement ring green, then?

‘[They] were pulling me under and Pablo was like, “You really must detach from those things – this is about spirit”.’

But one of the reasons director Pablo, 49, persevered with Kristen as Diana was because he could see ‘a little bit of overlap in terms of [their] experience’.
