Kacey Musgraves is branded ‘traitorous’ for urging fans to donate money to children of ‘unfairly’ deported immigrants

Kacey Musgraves turned 38 at her Chicago concert last Friday, and her birthday wish was for her fans to donate to the Young Center, a nonprofit organization championing children ‘in an unfair immigration system.’

‘It’s a wonderful organization, and they help give aid, legal aid, and money to children whose parents have been deported unfairly,’ the country crooner said onstage at the United Center.

‘It’s not a political thing. It’s just, these kids need help…they have no guidance and no way to get through this thing without their homebase or their parents. So anyway, 50 cents, whatever the hell… I don’t know, whatever you want to [donate].’

Musgraves again shouted out the Young Center and the Galveston-Houston Immigrant Representation Project on her Instagram Stories over the weekend, saying they were ‘both doing the Lord’s work.’

However, the eight-time Grammy winner’s advocacy has enraged the MAGA supporters, who are largely in favor of crackdowns on immigration.

‘What is an unfair deportation?’ famed right-wing podcast host Tomi Lahren tweeted in response to Musgraves.

‘Another TRAITOROUS woman who wants nothing more than to see our country fall,’ another critic blasted on X.

‘How about donating money the help kids [whose] parents have been killed by illegal immigrants!’ a third chimed in.

Meanwhile, another X user wrote: ‘Kacey Musgraves is worth $15 million. Yet she’s asking fans who already paid $150 to $350 for tickets to donate to support the children of illegal aliens.

‘If she cares that much, she can fund it herself and let them live in one of her multi-million-dollar mansions.’

Another questioned why Musgraves didn’t ask her fans to ‘donate even one dollar to American kids in Appalachia going to bed hungry.’

‘Hundreds of thousands of US kids in poverty,’ she tweeted with a clown emoji.

‘Tens of thousands skipping meals. She’ll fund the border-crossers. She’ll ignore her own country’s starving children. Priorities.’

An estimated 6,200 children have been detained by US immigration authorities during the second Trump administration and, as of August, at least 24 immigrants have reportedly died in ICE custody this year.

The Dry Spell singer’s plea was not surprising considering she’s always been an outspoken Democrat and pro-choice supporter, who regularly condemns President Donald Trump and his policies.

Back in May, Musgraves even invited the Mariachi Oro brothers – Antonio, Caleb and Joshua Gámez-Cuéllar – to open for her in her native Texas two weeks after they were released from ICE detention.

The Gámez-Cuéllar family had reportedly entered the States through the now-defunct CBP One asylum process in 2023.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Musgraves’s rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.

The marijuana/LSD enthusiast – who pulls 17.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify – is next scheduled to bring her 36-date Middle of Nowhere Tour to Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada, on Monday night.
