How Kylie Kelce REALLY feels about Taylor Swift after her foul-mouthed wedding rant: Insiders reveal stark ‘differences’ between the sisters-in-law… and truth about ‘feud’

When Taylor Swift says ‘I do’ to Travis Kelce this summer, she will inherit a new family – including the sister she never had.

The pop icon, 36, grew up with one brother, Austin Swift, but her romance with Travis has ushered in a new relationship with her future sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce.

To the public, Kylie, 34, who is married to Travis’s brother, Jason Kelce, 38, has been fiercely loyal to Swift and has kept mum when pushed to satiate fans’ hunger for juicy tidbits about the singer’s upcoming nuptials.

In April, she even used her own Not Gonna Lie podcast to blast those prying about the upcoming big day. ‘Nobody is f***ing telling you anything,’ she warned. ‘I don’t have any details.’

But despite forming a bond, the Daily Mail has learned the sisters-in-law to-be are not super close.

‘They’re the same age but they just live such different lives,’ one insider told us.

Ahead of the upcoming nuptials, insiders have laid bare the relationship between Swift, 36, and her sister-in-law to be, 34, (Kelce pictured at the Webby Awards on May 11)

‘Kylie is four babies in. All of [Taylor’s] friends are rich and famous and Kylie’s juggling mom duties, like, “I just need to go change a diaper.”‘

A second source reaffirmed that Swift and Kylie are in ‘different phases in life’ but insisted that the ‘love between them is legit.’ 

The public interest that has come from welcoming Swift into the family is a far cry from Kylie’s upbringing in Narberth, Pennsylvania, a small town with a population of less than 5,000 people.

In the mid-2010s, she went to community college, before transferring to Cabrini University, where she studied communications and played field hockey.

Like most millennial girls in their 20s, Kylie used a dating app, Tinder, for help finding love and matched with Jason, now 38, who was signed to the Philadelphia Eagles at the time.

Although Jason has always insisted it was love at first sight for him, Kylie had to warm up to the pro NFL player who fell asleep on their first date after drinking too many beers.

Eventually, the two tied the knot in 2018 and have since welcomed four daughters: Wyatt, six, Elliotte, five, Bennett, three, and Finnley, one.

For Swift, hers was a quiet existence in nearby West Reading, Pennsylvania. But it was evident community college and university was not on the cards. From birth she was destined for stardom, once confessing that her mother gave her an androgynous name because ‘she wanted me to be a business person in a business world.’

She was traveling to Nashville to talk to country music bigwigs by age 11, with her family relocating to Tennessee to help her achieve her dreams. By 14, she had signed to Sony and by 16 she had left school and was tallying up singles.

After releasing her self-titled debut in 2006, fame chased her with voracity as she relentlessly topped the charts, broke records and started hanging out with A-listers and collecting a string of famous ex-boyfriends.

But it was Travis who stole her heart, desperate to gift her a friendship bracelet. The pair went public in summer 2023 with the tight end proposing in August 2025. Their wedding is set to take place in New York at the beginning of July.

Swift only met Kylie for the first time at the Chiefs’ playoff game against the Buffalo Bills in January 2024, months after she had started dating Travis, their relationship long in the public realm by then.

Before their initial meeting, fans had speculated that Kylie and her husband did not see eye-to-eye with Swift, but Kylie rubbished those rumors.

‘People are deeply disturbed by this,’ she said about the fact she only met her for the first time in 2024.

‘There was all of this stuff leading up to it about, “Why haven’t they met? They’re avoiding each other.” I’m not avoiding anyone, I’m more than happy to meet someone, especially someone that Travis is dating.’

So why are they not best pals?

‘They’re the same age but they just live such different lives,’ one insider told us, while another added that ‘they’re starting to [get closer]’ now Swift and Travis are engaged (Kylie pictured with Jason)

Although multiple insiders have shut down talk of an all-out feud, they suggested their differing personalities are to blame.

‘Kylie’s just not that warm so people think she’s standoffish,’ said our first insider. ‘She’s very much like Donna Kelce. Taylor is nothing like Donna.’

Despite only meeting for the first time in January 2024 and seemingly only enjoying one double date with their partners – an event at Swift’s home whereby Kylie swerved the food as she was eight weeks pregnant – Swift and Travis’ upcoming nuptials have strengthened the bond between the two women.

‘Now that it’s official that [Travis and Swift] are getting married, they’re starting to [get closer],’ a second source said.

Swift even ‘cooked [the Kelce family] Thanksgiving last year,’ clearly keen to cement herself in the clan.

And perhaps Kylie is thawing when it comes to accepting fame, not that anyone could blame her for any potential struggles with adjusting to the intrusion the Swift fandom has brought.

Back in November 2023, she admitted that the spotlight is ‘not’ her cup of tea. It was around this time that Swift and Travis made their debut as a couple at a Chiefs game and the Kelce name was starting to become a hot commodity outside the world of sports.

Jason’s Prime Video documentary – in which his wife appeared – also dropped and boosted the family’s prominence.

‘The exact same moment Travis and Taylor announce they were dating; Jason’s movie came out and Kylie looked really good in it, and that was sort of the beginning of a transformation,’ the second insider told us.

Kylie even decided to capitalize off her newfound attention, launching her own podcast, because ‘people wanted to hear from her.’

But unlike Swift who has become accustomed to unimaginable levels of fame, Kylie is still reserved, yet to throw herself into Swift’s friendship circles.

She has only really connected with Jerrod Carmichael from Swift’s celebrity posse – a revolving door of A-listers from Karlie Kloss, to Ice Spice, Jack Antonoff, Selena Gomez and once Blake Lively.

Her affinity for Carmichael, 38, was reaffirmed earlier this week when he was chosen to introduce Kylie with the Webby Awards’ Podcaster of the Year Award.

‘She’s been incredible,’ the comedian said in his speech. ‘I guess my problem with the word authenticity is that even liars can say it. Like, anyone can use the word and not live it and not live up to it.

‘I felt that just being with you, being around you, listening to you – you’re absolutely incredible. You make me feel like family.’

But if Kylie ever wanted to go back to a normal-ish life, she seemingly could.

‘People aren’t obsessed with Taylor’s brother,’ said our second insider. ‘If you really want to be a normal person then be a normal person.’
