On Tuesday, over 25 record highs fell across 6 states across the Southwest including locations like Aspen, Colorado, and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Thus, more records are forecast to fall, with over 30 locations forecast to have record high temperatures through Sunday across this region.
Looking farther ahead, the CPC’s 6-10 day temperature outlook favors above-average temperatures across much of the Lower 48, signaling that summer heat is unlikely to loosen its grip anytime soon.
