THE Green Party’s online spring conference descended into chaos as their voting software crashed.
Members were fighting yesterday over a motion ruling “Zionism is racism” when the system failed.
People in the chat were asked to stop shouting in capital letters amid the meltdown and motions of no confidence were tabled against the chair-person, a source said.
Ex-Green Party deputy leader Shahrar Ali tweeted: “I’m hearing conference voting has been an absolute shambles, with no means of secure voting, complete anarchy in the chat.”
Zionism is the belief in self-determination for Jewish people and right to their own state.
The motion called for the Green Party to declare itself an “anti-Zionist party”, which has split the party between its traditional eco-warriors and far-left activists.
Members were furious when time ran out to vote on it.
The Greens later said the server went down but was quickly fixed.
It has also been revealed party activists called Jews “an abomination” in antisemitic WhatsApps.
Messages by activists from Greens for Palestine included conspiracies that Jews torched their own charity ambulances in Golders Green last Monday.
Family of Green leader Zack Polanski — who is Jewish — say they fear they will be forced to leave Britain if he is ever PM.
Tory MP Matt Vickers said: “Green Party supporters are in open warfare with each other. They offer nothing but chaos.”
Labour MP David Taylor said: “They are a total shambles.”
