EXCLUSIVE: FilmSharks has boarded international sales on the German comedy No Hit Wonder and will introduce the title at the upcoming Cannes Market.
No Hit Wonder is a Warner Bros Germany and Pantaleon title. The film debuted at last year’s Rotterdam Film Festival. The film was released in Germany last year by Warner Bros.
The film follows a one-hit-wonder-singer who hits rock bottom and, after a failed suicide attempt, wakes up in a psychiatric facility. The official synopsis reads: “His new life and agenda are filled with therapy sessions and very peculiar activities. Now he must face an uncomfortable question: who is he when his only success no longer defines him, and open up to start a wonderful healing journey.
The film’s cast features Florian David Fitz (Jesus Loves Me), Nora Tschirner (Keinohrhasen), Udo Samel (Europa Europa), and Corinna Kirchhoff (Paradise). Florian Dietrich directed the film from a screenplay by Florian David Fitz. Producers are Dan Maag, Daniel Sonnabend, Marco Beckmann, and Alexander Dreissig.
Guido Rud, head of FilmSharks, said it was “super exciting” to be working with Warner Bros and Pantaleon, which he said was “one of the most creative European producers today.”
“We feel this title will play very well for world sales and our sub-label, The Remake Co., with its super refreshing high concept,” he said.
