Chingy has spent more than two decades in the spotlight. Still, he managed to keep one major part of his family life away from the public.
Fans knew the St. Louis rapper for hits such as “Right Thurr,” “Holidae In” and “One Call Away.”
He became one of the most recognizable artists of the early 2000s. What many did not know was that another entertainer was growing up inside his family.
In a sit-down interview, Chingy recently revealed he has four children: two sons, Mykael and Isaiah, and two daughters, Alzea and Galaxii.
But fans are now discovering that one of his sons forged his own career in the entertainment industry.
The family revelations came during Chingy’s Sept. 2 appearance on “The Jason Lee Show.”
Lee especially reacted when Chingy revealed his oldest son, Mykael’s age.
“He’s about to be 30. I started young, man,” Chingy explained.
“Everybody’s mouth in here is wide open,” Lee said, describing the scene on set. “Wait, so you have a 30-year-old son?”
“I got a 30-year-old son,” Chingy confirmed. The surprises continued when the rapper identified rising actor Isaiah Russell-Bailey as his youngest son.
“Actually, my youngest son, Isaiah, is a big actor out here in California,” Chingy said. “Movies on Disney and all types of stuff — Isaiah Russell-Bailey.”

The 19-year-old actor is best known for his role as Shaka McKellan on Netflix’s “Family Reunion.”
Russell-Bailey played the mischievous son of Cocoa, played by Tia Mowry, and the grandson of Loretta Devine’s character, M’Dear.
The actor is also a dancer, model and content creator.
Russell-Bailey landed a leading role in Disney+’s 2023 science-fiction adventure “Crater.” His résumé includes appearances in “Raven’s Home” and “S.W.A.T.” He also appeared in Netflix’s superhero film “We Can Be Heroes.”
He frequently appears in dance videos with his mother, actress and choreographer Brittany Perry-Russell.
Fans couldn’t believe they had watched the young actor for years without knowing his famous father, whose birth name is Howard Earl Bailey Jr.
“Not him being Shaka’s daddy,” one person wrote on Instagram. Another added, “Oooo his son was on ‘Family Reunion’ with Tia Mowry. Such a good show!”
“Wow that’s his son,” a third person wrote. “That’s crazy. I watch him and his mom dancing all the time. They didn’t want anyone to know this.”
“I love @isaiahrussellbailey!” another fan exclaimed. “I am blown away that this is your son! Always wondered who his dad was! Small world!!!!”
Russell-Bailey learned that people were finding out who his two famous parents were. He then posted a message online that some call a subliminal message.
“Everything I am, I owe to the woman who has always been there. Grateful for you always,” he wrote sharing a photo of him and his mom, Brittany Perry-Russell.
“The timing is ironic but ur truth is ur truth,” wrote one person in his comments. Another noted, “And he said a word without saying anything at all. I love this for him!!”
Viewers also discovered that Chingy is a grandfather. His oldest son has a child of his own. The rapper revealed, “My son got a son.”
Lee immediately recognized what that meant and called him a granddaddy.
“Don’t call me that. Call me Pop,” Chingy replied. “I ain’t no granddaddy. I’m used to granddaddies being, like, 60, you know what I’m saying? I’m 46. ‘Granddaddy’ sounds crazy.”
Chingy had already hinted at what mattered most to him months before the interview.
In April 2026, he asked his more than 300,000 Instagram followers to name three things they might not know about him. He discussed his spiritual journey and described himself as a nonstop hustler. Sandwiched between those revelations was his greatest motivation: his children.
“I’m a proud dad and family man. That’s my why. Nothing motivates me like seeing them smile,” he said.
This shows up occasionally when he posts photos of his children. Once, he shared an excursion with his daughter Galaxii. He took her to the exact location where Michael Jackson filmed the music video for his hit song “Thriller.”
Chingy’s celebrity son may have been the interview’s biggest surprise. However, his age and grandfather status left fans nearly as stunned. His ability to keep his family outside the spotlight also impressed viewers.
As one commenter summed it up, “Love when artists remind people they’re just like them.”
