Doja Cat addressed claims she has ‘demonic’ tendencies and revealed that she has past ‘struggled with cocaine’ in a series of TikTok clips Monday.

The Grammy-winning artist, 30, told more than 29.1 million followers on the platform that she had ‘fear’ about speaking on the topic, but ‘was taught’ she ‘should do something that scares [her] every day if [she’s] on any journey to healing.’

The Say So singer continued, ‘So a lot of people on the Internet believe that I’m demonic – that I have demons – that I have evil in me.’

Doja Cat, whose full name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, said that ‘if there’s anything good’ about the suggestion, it’s that she can teach people about demons and evil.

The Los Angeles-born vocalist connected the notion of demons to addictions to drugs, alcohol or social media; in combination with ‘uncared for, undiagnosed mental illness.’

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Doja Cat for further comment.

She continued, ‘The best example, from my experience, is using the Internet as a means of validation to the negative thoughts in my head, which were then brought on by drinking alcohol.

‘I’ve never had a real problem with drugs, except for weed, but … alcohol is something that I definitely have had a problem with – I was never an alcoholic, but I definitely had problems.’

Doja Cat advised people that it’s ‘not good to pair these two things together,’ urging them to stay creative, take care of themselves and remember they’re ‘not indestructible.’

The Paint the Town Red singer in a subsequent clip spoke about past addiction battles she’s had, specifically with cocaine.

She said: ‘I have struggled with cocaine … I think could have been like eight years ago, but I’m well past that, so … thank God.’

She said that an ‘extreme issue’ that often goes overlooked or misunderstood is ‘undiagnosed’ or ‘uncared for’ mental illness ‘paired with social media.’

Doja Cat said that she felt it’s important to keep in mind mental illness ‘when we see things on the Internet about ourselves that are negative.’

She continued, ‘If people are commenting stuff that makes you hate yourself or … validates the stuff that you already hate about yourself, just know that first of all, you probably need help – second of all, they probably need help.’

The entertainer said that she strives not to return toxic energy to online trolls, knowing it’s coming from a place of despair.

‘Once you understand that that person is doing it out of their own personal – dare I say demons – it becomes more sad than it becomes angering and irritating,’ Doja Cat said.

She said that ‘there’s a very high chance’ negative remarks from people are essentially ‘talking to themselves,’ as ‘the Internet is a breeding ground for f***ing projecting’ and ‘everyone’s favorite place to project.’

Doja Cat advised users prior to commenting online, ‘Think about what you’re saying; think about if it’s a projection.

‘Be clear in your words – this isn’t a place where people want to be clear … not everything is the truth; not everything is so cut and dry.’
