As Colman Domingo made his Saturday Night Live hosting debut, the first-timer was cut off during a heartfelt curtain call speech.
While the 2x Oscar nominee’s words were cut short during the live broadcast, Domingo’s speech is now available online, dedicating this weekend’s episode to “all the little boys in inner cities,” as well as “all the little girls in small corners of Brazil,” on behalf of musical guest Anitta.
“Tonight is for all the little boys in inner cities, all the little girls in small corners of Brazil,” he began. “Tonight is for the dreamers. Tonight is for the people who bring light into the world, especially Lorne Michaels and this beautiful cast. Thank you to the band.
Domingo continued, “Thank you to everyone who came, to come together in a dark room and just laugh when we need more laughter in the world. This has been an epic night, and we want to send you away with a big old kiss and love, and to love on each other. Thank you so much to every single one of you in this building. Good night!”
The Euphoria star was a natural during his first SNL appearance, which should come as no surprise after his time on Logo’s The Big Gay Sketch Show from 2008-’10, on which he performed alongside SNL alum Kate McKinnon.
Following Domingo’s hosting gig, Saturday Night Live closes out its 51st season with hosts Olivia Rodrigo, Matt Damon and Will Ferrell in May. Rodrigo is pulling double duty as musical guest on her episode, followed by Noah Kahan and Paul McCartney.
