EXCLUSIVE: Cohen Media Group has acquired U.S. domestic distribution rights to Think Good (Si Tu Penses Bien), the Cannes Film Festival drama from French actress, writer, and director Géraldine Nakache.

The film, which had its world premiere in the Cannes Premiere section on the Croisette, stars Monia Chokri (The Nature of Love) alongside Niels Schneider (Love Affair(s)).

The deal was negotiated between Robert Aaronson, Executive Vice President of Cohen Media Group, and Nicolas Brigaud-Robert, Co-CEO of France’s Playtime.

Written by Géraldine Nakache and David Lambert, the film’s synopsis reads: “When Gil (Monia Chokri) meets Jacques (Niels Schneider), their love seems irresistible. And when she unexpectedly falls pregnant, he convinces her to start a family. However, their hasty marriage reveals that she is not as deeply rooted into the Jewish faith as he is. Jacques reassures her: ‘Think good and it will be good’. Little by little, Gil realizes the insidious control he exerts over her life…”

Nakache is known for movies including All That Glitters, Nous York, and I’ll Go Where You Go.

Robert Aaronson, EVP of Cohen Media Group, stated: “Géraldine Nakache has crafted a nuanced and emotionally powerful portrait of a relationship that slowly shifts from passion to control. Monia Chokri delivers a remarkable performance. We are proud to bring Think Good to audiences in the United States.”

“Think Good benefited from a great launch in Cannes. The film received strong interest from US buyers, but Cohen Media convinced us they were the right home for it. This is exactly the kind of film they know how to work on, and we have no doubt the movie will find its audience in the US with Cohen Media on board,” added Nicolas Brigaud-Robert, Co-CEO of Playtime.

The film was written by Géraldine Nakache and David Lambert. Producers are Patrick Quinet for Liaison Cinématographique and Philippe Godeau for Pan Cinéma. Co-producers are Artémis Production, Be TV & Orange, Proximus, RTBF, and Shelter Prod.
