Mizu’s journey for justice is coming to an end as Blue Eye Samurai is renewed for a third and final season.
On Thursday, Netflix announced the animated action series is ending after three seasons, while sharing the teaser and an January 2027 launch date for Season 2, which has recently finished production.
Meanwhile, Season 3 has begun production and is slated to debut in 2028.
Created by married duo Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, Blue Eye Samurai follows mixed-race Japanese warrior Mizu’s (Maya Erskine) as she seeks vengeance against four white men, including her father, who remained illegally in Japan after the Tokugawa shogunate closed its borders.
Debuting on Netflix in 2023, the show has won four Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Animated Program for Season 1.
