Benjamin Bratt took the stage at D23 tonight to tell the crowd that he’s coming back to play the spiritual legendary singer Ernesto de la Cruz in Coco 2. The film is set to bow in November 2029.
The big deal in part 2 is that young Miguel is no longer a boy but a teenager.
“He’s a little menace who ruined a career and destroyed a legend,” said Bratt, “Ernesto de la Cruz is back for revenge…proving that fate has twists.”
It was also revealed today that Coco is part of the next Kingdom of Hearts video game that’s set to come out.
Disney’s then CEO Bob Iger announced the sequel in March 2025 during the conglom’s annual shareholder meeting. The movie is eyeing a 2029 theatrical release.
