California, here we come again. Ben McKenzie has addressed a potential return to The O.C., nearly 20 years after the show ended.

The actor, who starred as Ryan Atwood for the Fox teen drama’s four-season run from 2003 to 2007, recently commented on whether the hit show could get the reboot treatment.

“I don’t know that there has ever been serious talks, but I’d be up for it, sure,” he said on KIIS 1065. “Yeah, I think so, under the right circumstances. It was a great show. We had a great time. I learned a lot. I was so young, we were all young.”

McKenzie added, “Let’s make it happen.”

Although his own kids are “too young to watch it,” McKenzie said his 10-year-old “loved it,” as do plenty of young fans he meets these days.

“I now have kids come up to me, teenagers, and they talk about what a fan they are of the show. ‘You weren’t even alive when it came out,’” added McKenzie. “They watch it with their parents.”

In The O.C., Ryan Atwood (McKenzie) is a troubled Corona teen who is taken in by his public defender Sandy Cohen (Peter Gallagher) and his family in the titular seaside enclave. The show also starred Adam Brody, Mischa Barton and Rachel Bilson.
