AFL WAG Dee Salmin has launched an extraordinary rant against women who post online about how great their boyfriends are.

The Triple J host, 31, who is in a relationship with Collingwood captain Darcy Moore, said women should not be praising their partners for doing the ‘bare minimum’.

‘Please stop posting about how great your boyfriend is and putting bare-minimum men on a pedestal,’ Dee wrote on her Substack.

She said she was ‘filled with rage’ over a recent social media trend in which women gush about their partners doing household chores and looking after the kids.

‘I’m over it. I’m done with seeing people in my feed get obsessed with men they literally know nothing about and calling them the dream,’ she wrote.

‘There’s been a trend to post your male partner and talk about how you’re not dating a loser. But it’s usually videos with inspirational music and just their boyfriend cooking dinner. Or cleaning. Or looking after the kids. I was filled with rage.

‘I’m going insane every time I see a guy go viral on socials for doing very basic things that every normal human being in a relationship should be doing.

‘The amount of times I’ve seen women post about their boyfriends helping out around the house, or their partner buying them flowers… and the comment section is flooded with other women talking about how lucky she is.’

Dee went on to highlight the double standard that women are rarely praised for managing most of the housework while also holding down a full-time job.

‘Some women are out here managing a full-time business, cooking every meal, keeping friendships alive, showing up for everyone, running a household, raising and looking after kids… nobody posts a TikTok about that,’ she vented.

‘We need to stop celebrating men for doing the bare minimum – while women doing the MOST is just expected, normal and rarely acknowledged.’

She concluded by saying that putting men on pedestals for doing basic things only enables bad boyfriends to continue their poor behaviour.

‘Sometimes we put men on pedestals when they’re actually not that great. In fact, often they’re the bare minimum. And sometimes we put men on pedestals who cheat and don’t treat us very nicely,’ she ranted.

‘We lie to ourselves because we’d rather be in a sh***y relationship than not be in one at all. We need to start being honest with ourselves.’

Are we setting the bar too low when we publicly praise partners for basic acts of kindness or support?

Dee has been in a long-term relationship with footy star Moore since 2023 and the pair moved in together earlier this year.

She had been single for three years before meeting Moore, and had avoided dating for most of her 20s after tiring of being ‘drawn to people who weren’t that great.’

The radio presenter hosts Triple J radio’s The Sunday Hook Up sex education program, and previously went into detail about her romance on another ABC show, Ladies, We Need To Talk.

‘I don’t live with my partner at the moment and we have such different, independent, busy lives,’ she said at the time.

Dee said that she and Moore don’t conform to the heterosexual gender stereotype of women taking on the bulk of housework and domestic duties when living with a partner.
