Ambulances responded to Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall in Downey on Wednesday for possible overdoses involving multiple people.
The Downey Fire Department told KTLA they were called out to the facility in the 7200 block of Quill Drive just before 8:45 a.m.
Early reports indicated that multiple people may be suffering from overdoses, though the specific substance has not been disclosed.
Los Padrinos has drawn criticism for allegedly not protecting the minors there, including reported fights between inmates that were encouraged by guards.
