He earned more than £1million a year when he was a fixture of daytime TV, but three years after his spectacular fall from grace, Phillip Schofield, 64, is feeling the financial cost of life as a television outcast.

His media company Fistral Productions added a paltry £7,248 to its reserves during its latest financial year.

It’s a dramatic reversal of fortune for Schofield, who co-hosted ITV’s This Morning for 20 years till he quit in May 2023 after admitting to lying about an affair with a much-younger male colleague.

Married father-of-two Schofield had come out as gay in a live interview on the show with co-presenter Holly Willoughby in February 2020.

Companies House records show Fistral held more than £3million in assets in its pre-Covid pomp and was adding hundreds of thousands of pounds each year.

The latest accounts also suggest the company, which he controls with estranged wife Stephanie, 62, dispensed with its only employee last year.

Schofield attempted a comeback with Channel 5’s Cast Away (pictured) in 2024, spending ten days alone on an island off Madagascar during which he attacked former colleagues he accused of failing to support him

Another company controlled by the couple is Fistral Properties, whose accounts show it is £96,470 in debt despite buying a £861,000 investment property.

Schofield continues to enjoy the trappings of his former success with a six-bedroom bachelor pad in Chiswick, west London, which he bought for £2million in August 2020.

He has electric gates as part of his security measures.

His wife and daughters Molly, 33, and Ruby, 30, appeared in the series, with Schofield insisting the love of his family had ‘never wavered’.

Molly left her job as a talent agency manager after his affair was exposed but later acted as his de facto publicist.

Neither daughter has featured Schofield on her public Instagram page in recent years.

Molly’s last photo of him dates from July 2018, while Ruby’s only post featuring her father was in June 2014.

Schofield’s Instagram account is also sparse. He follows just eight accounts including Formula 1’s Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris, plus Dawn French, the only showbusiness friend on his list.
