The Martian has landed at Yankee Stadium.
Outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez has a locker in the Yankees‘ locker room, and SNY MLB Insider Andy Martino reports that Dominguez is “here to play just about every day.”
The Bombers are back in the Bronx for seven games, starting with a three-game set against Kansas City that begins on Monday night.
The Yankees have not announced any official roster moves, but veteran infielder Jon Berti is also in the clubhouse, and will be activated off of the IL.
Just this past Friday, general manager Brian Cashman told reporters that Alex Verdugo – not Dominguez – gives the Yankees the best chance to win right now as the team’s starting left fielder.
“If he comes (to the big leagues), he’s got to play every day,” Cashman said about Dominguez.
Dominguez, one of the top prospects in all of baseball, has had a tremendous season in the minors as he’s bounced back from 2023 Tommy John surgery. In 58 minor league games, Dominguez has slashed .314/.376/.504 with 11 home runs and 35 RBI.
This is a developing story. More to come…
