Police are searching for the driver involved in a crash that left a female pedestrian dead in Los Angeles’ Florence neighborhood overnight.
The crash was reported around 12:30 a.m. Friday near Towne Avenue and East Florence Avenue.
Video showed that a large white canopy was placed over the unidentified victim’s body as Los Angeles Police Department officers conducted their investigation.
A witness at the scene said that the female victim was walking across the street when an unknown vehicle struck her and continued driving, freelance media firm KNN reported.
No description of the suspect or the vehicle involved in the deadly crash was available.
Florence Avenue was closed between San Pedro Street and Avalon Boulevard for the investigation.
