Woman in Porsche sought after fatal hit-and-run in L.A.’s Vermont Vista neighborhood

Police are searching for a woman who was behind the wheel of a Porsche involved in a deadly hit-and-run in the Vermont Vista neighborhood of L.A. on Saturday night. 

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision occurred around 9:15 p.m. as the Porsche was driving southbound on Figueroa Street at 91st Street and the second vehicle, which appears to be a Honda sedan, northbound on Figueroa. 

A Los Angeles Fire Department alert indicated the decedent became entrapped in the vehicle after the crash and died at the scene.

LAPD officials said that the decedent is a 25-year-old Hispanic man.

The suspect, described by police as a Black female in her 30s, was said to have fled on foot. The Porsche she was driving was left abandoned in the middle of the road.

Video from the scene posted to the Citizen App shows the immediate aftermath of the collision, with more than a dozen bystanders rushing to the crash site to try and extricate the male victim, although they were unsuccessful.

The damaged Porsche was towed as evidence, the LAPD spokesperson said.

The exact circumstances surrounding what led up to the crash, including whether impairment played a role, were not immediately disclosed by the LAPD.

Anyone with information on the fatal collision is asked to contact Los Angeles police.
