FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Fairfax County Police Department said a woman was taken to the hospital after a crash in Newington Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the single-vehicle collision happened on Pohick Road, near Havenbrook Way.
Details are limited; however, medics took the driver, a woman, to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
As officers continued their investigation, Pohick Road was shut down in both directions, as of 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes until the crash is cleared.
