A 49-year-old woman was fatally shot while sitting on the porch of a residence in West Pullman at approximately 9:33 p.m. Friday night, Chicago police said.
A man with a concealed carry license who was on the porch with the woman returned gunfire. The initial shooter fled the scene in a dark colored SUV, police said.
The woman was struck in the face and an arm. She was was transported in critical condition from the 11800 block of South Indiana Avenue to Roseland Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the woman Saturday afternoon as Katrina J. Brown. The office ruled her death a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds.
Police said officers found a handgun tied to the incident, but no one has been taken into custody.
Detectives are investigating the incident.
