FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (DC News Now) — The Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department (PGFD) said a woman died in a townhouse fire Monday night.
The fire broke out in the 6100 block of Brandyhall Court, and when crews arrived, they could see fire showing from the townhouse.
One person was trapped inside and needed to be rescued. Firefighters found her in the upstairs bedroom.
PGFD said she died there. She was the only one inside the townhouse.
Crews were able to put out the fire in 15 minutes and determined that it started in the bedroom.
PGFD said the home did not have working smoke alarms. The fire did not appear to be suspicious.
