A woman was found with a fatal gunshot wound Monday night on the same block in Westmont where a man was shot and killed Sunday.
Deputies responded to the report of a gunshot victim in the 1200 block of West 87th Street in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles County around 9:30 p.m.
They located the unidentified victim who was transported to a local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel but later died from her injuries, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release.
A second victim, a man, had been shot in the foot and was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
“The suspect, an adult male, was last seen behind the location, fleeing on foot in an unknown direction,” the Sheriff’s Department said.
Investigators have not determined if the shooting is connected to the fatal shooting of a man just a few houses over on the same block Sunday night.
