MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Montgomery County police are investigating a single-car crash that left a woman dead Sunday night in Silver Spring.
The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said officers and medics were sent to the 10400 block of Colesville Road near Southwood Avenue for a crash at around 10:40 p.m.
There, they found a Kia Telluride that had collided with a utility pole. The woman driver, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police noted that no other cars were involved in the crash, but multiple witnesses called to report it.
As of Monday morning, Pepco is on the scene replacing the pole, and only one southbound lane is open to traffic.
