A WOMAN has died after being knocked down in a hit-and-run by a cyclist wearing a shirt and tie while she was walking her dog with her husband.

The 57-year-old was struck in front of her partner on December 10 while walking their dog on Moorland Road in Cardiff.

Police are now searching for the mystery male cyclist who was wearing a black face covering, white shirt and red tie.

He has been urged to “do the right thing” and hand himself in after riding away from the crash at the time.

Officers say the woman died on Monday – five weeks after she was hit in the Splott area of the Welsh capital.

A South Wales Police spokesman said: “Police investigating collision are appealing for witnesses and information.

“The 57-year-old woman was walking her dog with her husband sometime between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, when the collision happened.

“She was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, where she died yesterday (Monday, January 13).

“The cyclist who is described as male, wearing a black face covering, white shirt, and red tie, is urged to please come forward.

“Anyone with information or footage, which might help, is asked to contact South Wales Police.”
