Woman, 40, who died after ‘being punched outside bar’ is pictured

A WOMAN who died after allegedly being punched outside a bar has been pictured – with a teenager now charged over the horror attack.

Lisa Denton, 40, was rushed to hospital in critical condition with a head injury shortly after 10pm on Saturday.

She tragically died in hospital the morning after the alleged attack in North Shields, Tyne and Wear.

It is understood that Lisa was punched.

Liam Moor, 19, has been charged with one count of manslaughter and will appear in Bedlington Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

A woman in her 50s was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector, Mark Atherton, said: “This is an incredibly tragic incident where a woman has sadly lost her life.

“Our thoughts remain firmly with Lisa’s loved ones at this time. We will continue to support them as they try to navigate a life without Lisa.”

He added: “With proceedings now active, we would ask that the public avoid speculation, both online and in the community, and respect the ongoing legal process.”
