Wildfire recovery resource centers transitioning to new locations: What you need to know

Two disaster recovery centers for the January L.A. area wildfires are permanently closing at the end of the month and moving to new locations, federal officials announced. 

The current DRCs are located at: 

  • UCLA Research Park West: 10580 W. Pico Blvd., Los Angeles
  • Altadena Disaster Recovery Center: 540 W. Woodbury Road, Altadena

Both FEMA and Small Business Administration resources will be transitioning from the current locations to county- and city-run facilities starting June 2.

Services for wildfire victims will continue at:

  • One Stop Rebuilding Center: 1828 Sawtelle Blvd., Los Angeles
  • Altadena Community Center: 730 E. Altadena Drive, Altadena

Both facilities, starting June 2, will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.


State Farm Insurance seeks additional rate hike on top of 17% approved by state

“If you applied for FEMA assistance, it’s important to stay in touch with FEMA to track and update your application should you receive an insurance settlement or denial and as your situation changes to work through any approval processes,” FEMA officials said in a news release Wednesday. “FEMA representatives can explain available assistance programs and help you with resources for your recovery needs.”

Rental assistance is still available for eligible individuals, as are Small Business Association loans.

Additional fire recovery resources can be found at the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Los Angeles County One-Stop Permit Centers.
